About The Pride Project
The Pride Project is a charitable trust that grew out of the Clendon community. It began in 2017 as the Clendon Pride Project, with $15,000 from the Manurewa Local Board, and has grown into a trust running peer support, programmes and a community base.
Its Hope Navigators are peer-support workers who help whānau with housing advocacy, financial mentoring and essential needs. The Community House at 60 Maplesden Drive runs a tool library and Whare Tautoko, a free op shop run by volunteers with clothing, household goods and blankets. The Mangopare Hub in the shopping centre works with rangatahi, including young people at risk of long-term unemployment.
