About Te Matariki Clendon Community Centre and Library

Te Matariki Clendon is the council-run community centre and library at 17 Palmers Road, opened in 2006. The name was chosen with input from Pukaki Marae and reflects Matariki as a time of renewal. The community centre has a stadium with a basketball court, rooms for hire, a youth zone, OSCAR before- and after-school care and school holiday programmes.

The community centre is closed for maintenance and upgrades from July 2026 until winter 2027, and its programmes have moved to Manurewa Leisure Centre in the meantime. The library, Waimahia (Clendon) Library, stays open six days, with late nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
